About This Program

Offers a structured summer day camp for adolescents who are struggling with keeping friends and interacting with peers. — Service provides:

  • a summer day camp for adolescents
  • opportunities to learn social skills in a safe setting in the morning and then practicing those skills out in the community in the afternoon

Community outings include:

  • swimming
  • bowling
  • golfing
  • riding Edmonton Transit
  • other activities the group is interested in

The camp offers direct social skills to promote and teach confidence in:

  • conversations
  • friendships
  • phone skills
  • how to read non-verbal cues

Eligibility

Yes, Service targeted to:

  • youth in grades 6 to 13
  • who are struggling with keeping friends and interacting with peers

Adolescents with learning disabilities and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are also welcome. No official assessment or diagnosis is required.
