Early Learning and Child Care – Programs and services that provide care and education for children outside the home and that are offered by people other than the children’s parents or guardians before they enter grade one.

Early Childhood Educator – Professionals who plan, implement, and reflect upon experiences to help children develop socially, creatively, intellectually, physically, and emotionally. They work with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children in a variety of settings. They also build relationships with families and other professionals. Early Childhood Services (ECS) – Programs funded by Program Unit Funding (PUF). PUF is a grant provided by the Ministry of Education and Child Care to school authorities for children with developmental disabilities who require additional support beyond that offered in regular programs.
Early Development – Programs and services that support the assessment and enhancement of growth and developmental milestones.
