About This Program

Offers a preschool program to assist students diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech. — Service provides:

  • a preschool program to assist students diagnosed with Childhood Apraxia of Speech

Programing elements include:

  • speech and language therapy, pre-literacy skill development, and positive social-emotional development
  • certified staff working directly with students

Apraxia or childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) is a motor speech disorder that impacts the ability to speak clearly. Key Provider: certified teachers, occupational therapists (OT), speech-language pathologists (SLP), speech-language pathology assistants (SLPA)

Eligibility

Yes, Service targeted to:

  • children 2 years and 8 months to 5 years and 11 months as of September
  • whose understanding of language is age-appropriate

Priority will be given to children with a confirmed diagnosis of apraxia of speech as diagnosed by a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or Pediatrician. Consideration will also be given to children with suspected apraxia of speech, motor speech disorder, and / or severe phonological delays.
