About This Program
Offers a structured summer day camp for adolescents who are struggling with keeping friends and interacting with peers. — Service provides:
- a summer day camp for adolescents
- opportunities to learn social skills in a safe setting in the morning and then practicing those skills out in the community in the afternoon
Community outings include:
- swimming
- bowling
- golfing
- riding Edmonton Transit
- other activities the group is interested in
The camp offers direct social skills to promote and teach confidence in:
- conversations
- friendships
- phone skills
- how to read non-verbal cues
Eligibility
Yes, Service targeted to:
- youth in grades 6 to 13
- who are struggling with keeping friends and interacting with peers
Adolescents with learning disabilities and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are also welcome. No official assessment or diagnosis is required.
