Offers a free respite program in a childcare setting that provides temporary relief from care for parents / caregivers with young children 0 to 6 years. — Service provides:

  • a free respite program in a childcare setting that provides temporary relief from care for parents / caregivers with young children 0 to 6 years

Includes:

  • opportunities for parents / caregivers to take part in various activities, attend appointments, and take care of themselves
  • respite from parenting in order to improve family functioning and stability
  • the opportunity for children to be engaged in a quality early learning program
  • learning though play approach
  • healthy meals and snacks
  • family support
  • parent-child activites
  • referrals to other services

Key Provider: early childhood educators, family support workers

Eligibility

Yes, Service targeted to:

  • parents / caregivers
  • with children 0 to 6 years

Program entry is based on the Canadian Social Determinants of Health.

Ages: 0–6 years
